The Polk County Board of Supervisors today extended its agreement with Oak View Group, which operates the Iowa Events Center, through January 2027 as it puts out a request for proposals for the next operator of the event center.
Polk County owns the Iowa Events Center and contracts with Oak View Group to run the day-to-day operations. Since 2004, Oak View Group (OVG) has operated the Iowa Events Center in downtown Des Moines, which includes the Casey’s Center, EMC Expo Center and Community Choice Convention Center.
The current lease and operator agreement, set to expire on Sept. 30, was extended through Jan. 28, 2027, while the county goes through the RFP process. The RFP will be released this week…
