Another case of animal neglect has led to the rescue of ten dogs and puppies by officers with the ANNA Shelter Animal Cruelty Division.
Officers Henning and Jacobson responded to a referral from another agency and discovered the animals living in deplorable conditions. The dogs, ranging in age from just 8 weeks to approximately one year old, had reportedly been confined in an environment saturated with urine and feces for an extended period.
According to veterinary staff, the animals were heavily infested with fleas and had likely endured these conditions for weeks. Many of the dogs were suffering from severe urine scalding, while others had developed painful infected sores as a result of prolonged exposure to the unsanitary environment…
