LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — Lafayette Utilities System wastewater crews started conducting smoke testing on sewer lines in the Rivers Bend neighborhood, a maintenance process that may cause smoke to appear near roof plumbing vents at homes and businesses in the area.
The smoke seen in the neighborhood is not the result of a fire, but rather part of a planned inspection of the wastewater system.
