LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — It was a dream that first began in Javier Martell’s garage. Boot making was a passion that Martell turned into a business, opening his first shop off Sunset Road and Eastern Avenue.
“I noticed all my boots were just breaking quick, broke down and ripped and stuff. One day I bought an expensive pair of boots, well-known boot maker, and they ripped within three months or so. I figured, ‘hey, there must be a better way to make these boots,'” Martell said. “Eventually, I thought this is a beautiful art, so I took some classes from a traditional boot maker and started making boots. Next thing I know, I made it a business.”

Old Country Boots is now located in Neonopolis on Fremont Street, a needed move to accommodate more space as business continues to grow.
“I’ve made boots for the governor and his wife and many other people like celebrities, so it’s amazing,” Martell added…
