Call it Fort Worth’s version of the Mandela Effect — we could’ve sworn the Fort Worth Zoo was already home to a pair of zebras. But, according to a press release we received earlier this morning, the Zoo had been without the striped tenants since 2021. And according to the same release, that five-year zebra hiatus is officially over as the Zoo welcomes two juvenile males to its already extensive menagerie.
The pair, half-brothers named Hercules and Pegasus, now reside in a renovated rhino habitat where the Zoo constructed a new barn designed to comfortably house the animals. And yes, we also noticed they named two zebras Hercules and Pegasus, and no, Pegasus was not Hercules’ horse despite what Disney implanted in your brain.
