A 2024 carjacking at Tampa General Hospital-Brooksville that included the victim’s murder resulted in a 40-year prison sentence for the suspect this past week.
On Wednesday, Lisa Nicosia, 42, appeared in circuit court and pled guilty to charges of second degree murder, carjacking, fleeing to elude and resisting arrest without violence. She was sentenced to 40 years with the Florida Department of Corrections.
On Oct. 12, 2024, Nicosia had been transported to the hospital under a Marchman Act due to narcotics use. She escaped out the entrance of the emergency room and pulled a 70-year-old man out of his vehicle in the parking lot. The victim ran to the other side and opened the passenger door, but was knocked to the ground under the rear passenger wheel well as Nicosia put the car in reverse…
