CMCSS, Nashville State launch Accelerated Associate program

A new partnership between Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and Nashville State Community College is providing high school students with an early start to college before they graduate from high school.

As Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools students went back to school in August, 23 high schoolers added college courses to their course load as the first cohort in CMCSS and Nashville State Community College’s new partnership, the Accelerated Associate Program.

“CMCSS is committed to expanding high-quality academic opportunities for every student we serve,” said Jean Luna-Vedder, CMCSS director of schools. “Through strong relationships with our community partners, especially Nashville State Community College, we are helping ensure that postsecondary education remains an accessible and attainable option, regardless of a student’s chosen path. The Accelerated Associate Pathway is another meaningful step forward in preparing our students to graduate college- and career-ready.”…
