HENRIETTA, N.Y. — Henrietta’s Wat Pa Lao Buddhadham Temple’s Walk For Peace took place on Sunday.
Last year, two monks from the temple walked from Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C. The walk started in October and ended in February, involving 19 monks who walked over 2,300 miles. Sunday’s event aimed to honor that walk.
On Sunday, several other monks throughout the U.S. joined in.
“There’s so many conflicts that are hitting us, you know, all at once. When you’re faced with those conflicts, it’s so hard to try to find peace. Not just within one’s self, but within one’s family, within one’s community,” said Phone Dumas, secretary of Wat Pa Lao Buddhadaham…
