Eads Bridge reopens after crash in East St. Louis

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. – The Eads Bridge reopened in both directions after a crash Tuesday morning in East St. Louis.

Details on the crash are unclear. The bridge reopened around 8 a.m. after being closed for several hours.

FOX 2 reached out to East St. Louis Police for details. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the lights were out on the south side of the Eads Bridge at the time of the crash due to copper wire theft. It is unclear if the crash was caused by the outage.
