New police chief looks to improve departmental efficiencies, community interaction

When Michael Schroll first joined the Hinckley Police Department back in 2007, he says police work in and around the township was a far cry from what it is today.

To start, getting hired [by the township] was almost a year-long process, and Schroll, of course, found out the hard way.

“Back then, you had one year from the time you graduated from the academy to find an assignment or you had to retake the test,” the North Royalton High School graduate said. “And if you didn’t find anything in two years, you were out of luck.”…
