AKRON, Ohio — Two years after a mass shooting at a block party in East Akron left one man dead and 28 others injured, police say the investigation remains open and active.
The shooting happened on June 2, 2024, near Kelly and 8th Avenues. Investigators say 27-year-old Lateris Cook was killed when gunfire erupted during the gathering.
