Police officers in Ohio on Tuesday helped residents rescue an injured great horned owl, and the bird is expected to make a full recovery.

The Sagamore Hills Police Department said officers assisted residents on the 1200 block of Canyon View Road on Tuesday after a great horned owl was found immobile in a backyard.

Photos shared by the police department show the injured owl being carefully placed into an animal crate. Police said a volunteer transported the bird to a local bird-of-prey rehabilitation center.

Staff at the rehab center confirmed the owl had a minor head injury and is expected to fully recover and be released back into the wild…
