Scammers thought they were fooling another grandparent, but one grandmother in Ohio ultimately got the last laugh.

When Crysta Willis received a call that her grandson, Eric, was in jail, the scammer told her that she needed to wire $5,000 as his bond, according to local news outlet Cleveland 19 News.

β€œHe says, β€˜I’m the deputy somebody and your grandson was in an accident. He’s at fault and you need to pay his bond for him to get out,’ ” Willis told the outlet…
