Scaffolds & Cranes: Mohawk Heights to bring 34 new apartments to Schenectady

SCHENECTADY — Construction on a new residential housing development dedicated to adults living with mental illness who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless is underway in Schenectady.

It’s called Mohawk Heights and is estimated to be completed in early 2027, said Steve Klein, CEO of Mohawk Opportunities, Inc. The nonprofit is behind the project’s development and is “committed to helping individuals living with mental illness achieve stable community living and independence,” according to its website.
