Lil’ Deb’s Oasis to close this fall

After a 10-year run, Lil’ Deb’s Oasis in Hudson is closing for good on Oct. 12.

The closing announcement arrived six months after chef and owner Halo Kaya Perez-Gallardo announced they were stepping away and putting the tropical eatery up for sale. In a social media post Wednesday, Perez-Gallardo said that two months after that announcement, their landlord notified them he was selling the building, which left the restaurant with “slim” chances of finding a new owner.

The Lil’ Deb’s team considered transforming it into a worker-owned co-op, but those conversations “died overnight,” according to Perez-Gallardo. The harsh winter led the restaurant to close on weekends, which drained its financial reserves…
