BETHLEHEM, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal Glenmont crash on April 27 that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old motorcyclist. The crash took place at the intersection of Route 9W and Magee Drive.

A preliminary investigation of the initial incident indicated that an SUV was traveling southbound on Route 9W when it collided with a motorcycle traveling northbound on Route 9W.
The operator of the motorcycle, 19-year-old Mason Ruggaber, of Delmar, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV, 53-year-old Eric Thompson, of Glenmont, was sent to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Bethlehem Police Crash Investigation personnel responded to the scene and conducted a crash reconstruction. As a result of an investigation, the Bethlehem Police Department arrested Thompson, the driver of the SUV, and charged him with the following:
- One count of driving while ability impaired by drugs
- Two counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger
- Two counts of of endangering the welfare of a child
