ROTTERDAM — Two Schenectady men and three teenage boys have been charged in connection with an assault at the Pattersonville Rest Area on the state Thruway that left one employee with significant injuries after he was slashed with a utility knife, according to State Police.
State Police said Sincere T. Germain, 21, and Jermaine B. Alterma Jr., 19, were arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree gang assault, a felony.
Three minors also face charges. A 17-year-old Schenectady boy was charged with first-degree gang assault. A 16-year-old Schenectady boy was charged with first-degree gang assault, second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
