Zante is owned by Bob and Alaina Pilarinos. Bob Pilarinos is part of Pilarinos Hospitality Group, which owns Capital City Diner in Guilderland. Pilarinos previously told NEWS10 that his partners in the hospitality group are not involved in Zante.
Pilarinos had previously passed on the chance to own the former Athos property a few years ago, but when it came up for sale again, he jumped on the opportunity. He told NEWS10 that he wanted to try something different from diners. He officially closed on the sale of the property on February 27. Zante is the nickname for the island in Greece his parents grew up on, said Pilarinos.
