DELMAR, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Days after an assisted living facility in Albany County was shut down for code violations, the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has been investigating the neighboring rehabilitation and nursing home facility, which is owned by the same company.

The Albany Center for Independent Living was shut down last week by the Town of Bethlehem, citing structural issues, such as water infiltration, and possible mold. In part of a statement, the NYSDOH said they are also investigating complaints at the Delmar Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.
While the NYSDOH would not elaborate further on what they are investigating, family members have been reaching out to NEWS10, with their own concerns and experiences. Those families, included Samantha and Robert Robinson, after Robert’s mom Kathleen was admitted to the Delmar Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing on August 17.
“They wanted her to stay just to kind of build up some strength after a recent illness she had,” said Samantha.
