Pearlpalooza brings thousands to downtown Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Downtown Albany drew a crowd of thousands on Saturday for one of the city’s biggest street festivals of the year– Pearlpalooza. It came just days after a new push to revive downtown nightlife.

Pearlpalooza has been a fixture on North Pearl Street for 17 years. The free, all-ages festival drew thousands from across the Capital Region for an afternoon of live music, food, and vendors from downtown.

“We have several vendors. We have food trucks; we have some of the restaurants that are here along Pearl Street. And so, really, you can find almost anything that you find here in downtown,” explained Georgette Steffens, Executive Director of the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District.
