Albany police arrest 2 over cocaine, handgun

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Albany police report the arrest of two people over drugs and a gun uncovered while executing a search warrant. They said that detectives found a loaded handgun and narcotics near Cortland Place and Spring Street on Thursday at around 6:40 a.m.

Albany detectives from the Community Response Unit worked with U.S. Marshalls on the warrant, and ultimately arrested Demitris Moses, 46, and Ericka Olgetree, 35. Police described the gun they found as a .380 hangun, and claimed to have identified powdered cocaine on site.

They do not face the same charges. Police charged Moses with:

  • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Thrid-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • Secod-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia

Lakeside Road permanently closes in Washington Park

Olgetree, meanwhile, faces:

  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance
