Cooking for a cause: Albany officials, chefs team up for fundraiser

ALBANY — The owners of Pearl Street Diner, Lucia Mitsios and her husband, Anthony Mitsios, say they hosted the “Cook-Off for a Cause” fundraiser because they have it in their hearts to “give and help.”

“I think it’s part of the hospitality,” Lucia Mitsios said.

At the second iteration of the contest Saturday, which raised funds for a support organization for sober living, Albany Mayor Dorcey Applyrs, Police Chief Brendan Cox and Albany County District Attorney Lee Kindlon joined professional chefs and restaurateurs Anthony Berghela of Anthony’s by Romo’s in Voorheesville and Romo’s Pizza and Restaurant in Glenmont, Dylan Longton of Pretty Alright Breakfast Club in Voorheesville and Kizzy Williams of Allie B’s Cozy Kitchen in Albany…
