The DA’s Office said an investigation into Gubari began after Albany Police received information about a sexual assault in February 2025. Investigators said Gubari allegedly followed two teenagers, ages 14 and 17, along Central Avenue and then reportedly raped the 14-year-old female.
During his three-day trial, investigators testified that Gubari followed the teens down the road after trying to talk to them from his car. After the second time he spoke to the teens, they agreed to get into the car and Gubari reportedly drove them to a dark parking lot. The DA’s Office said Gubari got into the back seat with the 14-year-old and forcibly raped her while she tried pushing him off.
At trial, he was found guilty of both first and second degree rape…
