Man convicted in Albany County’s first deed-theft trial sentenced to prison

A Guilderland man convicted in the first Albany County deed-theft trial was sentenced to state prison Monday after the judge blasted him for his lack of remorse.

Judge William Little sentenced Jorge Luis Mangual Vicente, 49, to 6 1/2 to 13 years in state prison, months after a jury found the defendant guilty of second-degree grand larceny, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, Albany County District Attorney Lee Kindlon said.

Vincente forged a deed in an attempt to take ownership of a $755,000 home he was renting on Rizzo Lane in Guilderland, Kindlon said. Albany County deputies served him a two-week notice to vacate the property on April 4, 2024, after Deutsche Bank informed him it wanted to sell the property…
