TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A deadly fire in Troy is under investigation after flames tore through a home Wednesday afternoon, leaving one person dead and several others injured. Crews say multiple people had to be rescued, including victims found trapped inside.

NEWS10’s Tyanna Xavier went there early Thursday afternoon and said that you could still smell the char in the air from the fire while standing outside the house. She also spoke to a neighbor who’s ring camera was able to capture one resident from the house being rescued.
In the video you can see people breaking down the wooden fence as the black smoke forces them to run away. You can hear some of them coughing. When they finally got the fence down, you can see three people dragging a person away from the house on fire. NEWS10 does not know the condition of the man that was rescued, but in the footage, you can see him sitting up and moving.
All of these individuals have not been identified yet, but NEWS10s Tyanna Xavier reached out to the mayor’s office to check on their condition. However, the mayor’s office said they cannot release the identities of anyone yet, as the next of kin has yet to be located for the person who died.
