County Route 68 bridge to close for repairs in Poestenkill

POESTENKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The County Route 68 bridge (Snyders Corners Road) in Poestenkill will temporarily close beginning Friday, May 1. The bridge, which carries County Route 68 over the Wynants Kill will be closed for repairs following an inspection.

Rensselaer County officials said the bridge will be closed for the foreseeable future, as the county waits for approval of design plans for the replacement of the bridge. This week, state inspectors decided to close the bridge to two-way traffic. The closure will go into effect Friday, May 1.

The county said it previously submitted design plans for replacement of the bridge to state and federal transportation agencies for approval.
