Saratoga Sites in Cohoes, neighbor of Norlite plant, sold to developer

COHOES, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A former federal low-income housing project in Cohoes has been successfully sold to a developer, according to the city. Saratoga Sites, located on Saratoga Street, was vacated in 2023 due to concerns about the nearby Norlite plant.

The city said the 4.5-acre property was bought by Rotterdam developer Byron Diaz for $125,000. The new owners reportedly plan to demolish the existing structures over the next year and turn the site into a commercial warehouse development.

“The project will place the planned building development on the tax rolls at full value, along with potential clients hosting onsite employees,” Diaz said…
