Police chase stolen car from Guilderland into Albany; 2 Schenectady teens charged

Guilderland, NY (WRGB) — A stolen vehicle spotted in Guilderland triggered a chase into Albany and ended with two Schenectady teens facing charges, police said.

On Thursday, May 7, 2026, around 2:06 a.m., members of the Guilderland Police Department observed a vehicle reported stolen out of Schenectady traveling in the area of Rapp Road in Guilderland. Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled from officers into Albany.

The vehicle was later located by Guilderland police and stopped on Springsteen Road near the Guilderland/Albany border. Police said the operator got out and ran into a nearby wooded area.
