State Police arrests four after late-night stops, illegal handguns seized

Hoosick Falls, NY (WRGB) — A series of late-night traffic stops across the Capital Region led to four arrests and the seizure of multiple illegally possessed handguns, including a loaded ghost gun, according to New York State Police.

On May 4, 2026, State Police of Brunswick arrested 46-year-old Michael Martin of Hoosick Falls, New York, after troopers stopped a vehicle at about 10:42 p.m. on Cottrell Road in Hoosick for a vehicle and traffic law violation. During the investigation, troopers located and seized an illegally possessed handgun and multiple magazines from inside the vehicle.

Martin was charged with criminal possession of a firearm; unlawful possession of certain ammunition feeding devices; and a vehicle and traffic law violation. He was transported to State Police Brunswick for processing, then arraigned in Hoosick Town Court, where he was released on his own recognizance…
