ALBANY — Michael Carr, the local man who, as a teen, caused the fiery car crash that killed his friend Nico DiNovo and burned down Blessings Tavern in Colonie, was sentenced Friday to one year in local jail for felony drunken driving and other charges tied to a police chase last year.
State Supreme Court Justice Thomas Marcelle imposed the sentence after Carr pleaded for leniency.
Last year, a grand jury indicted Carr, 28, on charges that accused him of riding a motorcycle without a license and intoxicated on June 18 on Western Avenue in Guilderland. He also allegedly fled from police when they attempted to stop him…
