ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Continuing to rehab Central’s old motel properties, developers are getting ready to break ground on new workforce housing, which would add dozens of apartments.
Connecting Albuquerque’s tourist attractions from Old Town to the ABQ BioPark, this side of Central near the river has seen new or revamped developments like El Vado and the Monterey Motel over the years. But just across the way, it’s a very different picture.
That’s why the city’s Metropolitan Redevelopment Agency (MRA) hopes a new project at Central and Simonds will be a game changer. “This was an old motel that had been there for a very long time and had to be torn down.
