ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — New security could be coming to Albuquerque’s Gateway Center on Gibson. City council will be voting on approving a contract for unarmed security guards to patrol inside and outside the Gateway Center.
The health, housing, and homelessness department says the contract comes as the contract ended for a previous security company. They received seven responses from companies interested and ultimately chose Universal Protection Services.
“So this contract is probably one of the larger ones in regards to the 24/7 security that’s provided onsite, not only for our other hospital tenants, but some of the gateway programs that we’ve expanded there and now have contractors that are working for us as well,” said Housing and Homelessness Director of Health Gilbert Ramírez…
