Hot weather was the theme once again for the first half of the weekend. Several record high temperatures were set around New Mexico including Roswell, Carlsbad, Truth or Consequences and Santa Fe. Carlsbad was the hottest in the state reaching a high of 106 degrees, which shattered the previous record of 101 degrees that was set back in 1967. Albuquerque just missed out on tying a record.
