APD says the scammers are using photos of a sale listing from sites like Zillow, then asking prospective renters to pay a deposit to secure it, even though the home is not actually up for rent. Realtors say if a seller or landlord refuses to show you the house in person, that’s a big red flag. They also add that the best way to protect yourself is to cross reference the rental ad with official real estate platforms.
[2] Bosque Farms wastewater concerns – Things are getting heated in Bosque Farms as village officials are at odds over wastewater issues. A recent verbal sparring between the mayor and village councilor stems from an issue with the village’s contract operator, Drew Padilla. He says the proper vendors have yet to receive payments for maintaining wastewater infrastructure and services, and still aren’t getting paid. He says this has left the village without grinder pumps and has led to sewage overflowing in some areas. KRQE reached out to the mayor and the councilor involved, but have not heard back.
