RIO RANCHO — With September nearing an end, that means one thing for volleyball in New Mexico. The 19th annual RRHS Volleybash took place Friday and Saturday, hosted by Rio Rancho and Cleveland. The tournament features 16 teams facing off in pool play throughout Friday to determine seeding for Saturday’s bracket tournament. There are four brackets: Championship, Gold, Silver and Bronze.
A solid showing in pool play on Friday put the Storm and Rams in the upper half of the four brackets. Cleveland fared better, qualifying for the Championship Bracket, while Rio Rancho placed in the Gold Bracket.
In Cleveland’s path again was a familiar foe, but not one the Storm have dealt well with this season. La Cueva has proven to be Cleveland’s nemesis in 2026.
