Brothers Arrested in Fatal Stabbing Outside Albuquerque Dispensary

A tragic incident unfolded in January when 72-year-old Fred Tapia and his friend were stabbed during a confrontation along Central Avenue. Tapia succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, prompting an intensive investigation by authorities. Now, police have identified the suspects behind the fatal attack.

According to Albuquerque police, a vigilant cadet recognized the suspects, Jesus and Antonio Secatero, from security footage captured at the scene. The cadet had previous encounters with the brothers at a health clinic, leading to their identification in connection with the stabbing incident.

Earlier this week, Jesus Secatero was apprehended by law enforcement. Following his arrest, Antonio, his brother, surrendered to authorities on Thursday night.

Antonio appeared in court for the first time on Friday, facing charges including murder and aggravated battery alongside his brother. Court documents indicate that the altercation began when the Secatero brothers accused Tapia and his friend of attempting to run them over as they were walking in front of the Breaking Buds smoke shop.
