Restoring connection in Sandoval County

I am running for Sandoval County sheriff because I believe the Sheriff’s Office must be connected to the people it serves. Today, many in our community feel that connection is missing. My goal is to restore it through visibility, accountability and a renewed commitment to service.

My commitment to service began in the United States Navy. That experience shaped my sense of discipline, responsibility and duty, and those values have guided me throughout my law enforcement career.

I bring nearly 30 years of experience serving communities across New Mexico, including schools, rural areas and alongside tribal partners. I have spent much of my career getting to know the people of Sandoval County and understanding the unique needs of each community. Public safety is not one size fits all. It starts with listening and building trust.

As Sheriff, one of my top priorities will be increasing deputy presence throughout the county. Deputies should be visible, approachable and engaged. That means not only responding to calls, but also spending time in schools, attending community events, and being present in neighborhoods. These everyday interactions build trust and often provide early awareness when something is not right…
