RIO RANCHO — The Rio Rancho Police Department announced May 13 that a motorcyclist has died as the result of an early-morning accident.
All southbound lanes of travel on NM-528 were closed at High Resort Boulevard due to the crash investigation, according to an RRPD social media post around 4 a.m.
“The crash this morning was unfortunately fatal in nature. Preliminary investigation of the incident showed a motorcycle attempted to pass a truck as both vehicles were traveling southbound on NM-528. The motorcycle struck the rear of the truck which caused it to leave the roadway. The motorcycle rider succumbed to their injuries sustained from the crash,” RRPD stated…
