1 dead after 3 vehicle crash in northeast Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One person is dead following a three-vehicle crash in northeast Albuquerque. The Albuquerque Police Department said the driver of a Kia was headed eastbound on Layton Ave. and stopped at a red light to turn onto Eubank. They then accelerated through the red light.

A gray Jeep was approaching Layton on southbound Eubank and t-boned the Kia in the intersection. The Jeep then continued southbound and to the left, hitting a Volkswagen van that was on northbound Eubank in the turn lane.

The driver of the KIA was injured and taken to the hospital, where he later died. The driver of the Jeep had minor injuries. The driver of the Volkswagen and a juvenile in the van were uninjured…
