Trial underway for Albuquerque pastor accused of rape

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Opening statements have begun for a convicted conman and church pastor, facing five charges of rape. KRQE News 13 has reported on Andrew Miller many times before, from child abuse to racketeering. He has a criminal history dating back to 1998.

Two years ago, Andrew Miller was charged with raping two women while working as a senior pastor at a local church. According to the state, Miller was posing as the producer of a reality show and sending out fraudulent messages looking to recruit models. “This case is about a young, vulnerable 21-year-old high school dropout, named ***. She thought that she had found her big break into the modeling and acting industry. But that’s not what happened in this case. Instead, she was lured into a bad situation and taken advantage of by someone who was trying to live out his dark fantasy.”

The defense tried to call the victim’s side of the story into question, saying the sex was consensual. “This case is a classic case of he-said-she-said. But what you will learn is that not only is that a classic he-said/she-said, but this case is a classic case of second-guessing and inconsistencies.”…
