[1] Albuquerque city councilors approve fiscal year 2027 budget – Albuquerque city councilors have approved the budget which appropriates $1.5 billion for operating the City Of Albuquerque for Fiscal Year 2027 after multiple amendments. Councilors say the final budget prioritizes the city’s five year goals regarding human and family development, public safety, infrastructure, community development, environmental protection and governmental effectiveness.

[2] NM Supreme Court vacates murder conviction linked to teen’s death in 2014 – The state Supreme Court vacated the second-degree murder and evidence tampering convictions of a Valencia County man for a killing that occurred when he was a teenager. Brandon Villalobos was 15-years-old when he was arrested for the beating death of a 12-year-old friend, Alex Madrid in Meadow Lake back in 2014. Madrid’s body was found under a mattress in a field. The supreme court unanimously concluded that Villalobos was denied his right to a speedy trial, pointing out that Villalobos spent nearly six years in custody awaiting trial after his arrest in 2014.

[3] Spotty rain/snow, cooler and gusty weather – Temperatures Tuesday afternoon will cool closer to normal statewide behind both fronts.
