Arlington man indicted in fatal King Street crash that killed Alexandria driver

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — An Arlington man has been indicted on an involuntary manslaughter charge in a December crash on King Street that killed a 78-year-old Alexandria driver, police said Friday.

Mohammad Mohammadi, 23, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless driving in connection with the Dec. 13 crash at King Street and South Taylor Street, the Alexandria Police Department said. The charges followed an investigation by the department’s Crash Investigations Unit.

A City of Alexandria grand jury indicted Mohammadi on May 18 on one count of involuntary manslaughter, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and one count of reckless driving. With help from the Arlington County Police Department, he was arrested May 19 and taken to the Alexandria Adult Detention Center, then released on bond, police said.
