MARYLAND (WBFF) — A former police chief in Prince George’s County has been convicted by a federal jury for his role in an auto-insurance fraud scheme, according to the Maryland U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The jury found Davion Percy, 40, of Suitland, guilty of one count of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud connected to an insurance scam targeting Liberty Mutual Insurance, according to the announcement from Kelly Hayes, U.S. attorney for the District of Maryland.
According to court documents, between December 2019 and February 2020, Percy, who was then the chief of the Marlow Heights Special Police Department, conspired with Prince George’s County Police Department officer Michael Anthony Owen Jr., 37, of Accokeek, and Maryland-National Capital Park Police officer Conrad D’Haiti, 56, of La Plata, and others to commit mail and wire fraud…
