Missing swimmer identified as Germantown man, graduate of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews and other emergency responders are continuing their search Tuesday for 20-year-old Nazir Bell of Germantown, who went missing after struggling while swimming in the Potomac River on Sunday evening.

After searching Sunday evening and Monday, MCFRS rescue teams resumed their search Tuesday morning for Bell, who is presumed to have drowned. MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer said on social media that MCFRS crews would be deploying boats to continue the search.

Bell is a graduate of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High and is currently attending Towson University, according to a flyer posted on social media by his family…
