Madison County Board Chairman Chris Slusser’s call for Anthony Fauci to be “publicly hanged” comes amid continuing concerns about violent political rhetoric and attacks on public officials.
In a Facebook comment posted at about 1:30 p.m. July 29, Slusser wrote, “He should receive a public hanging,” in reference to a post about the number of times Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment during recent testimony before a U.S. Senate committee.
The comment was later deleted from Facebook. Slusser subsequently described the statement as “obvious rhetorical hyperbole — the kind of exaggerated language people use every day.”…
