ALEXANDRIA, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Police in Alexandria charged a man for a hit-and-run crash that hurt a teenager last year.
The Alexandria Police Department (APD) said that 29-year-old Zsavon Walters, who is not from the city, was arrested on Oct. 3, 2024.

The crash happened almost one year earlier, on Oct. 4, 2023. APD said that around 3 p.m. on that day, someone driving a Penske truck hit the teenager — a 15-year-old boy — at the corner of Montgomery and North Patrick streets.
APD said that the driver then headed towards the back of George Washington Middle School and nearly hit children who were there. The School Resource Officer there drew his weapon, and the driver drove off.
That officer and other APD officers tried to follow the truck, but they lost track of it.
APD said that Walters is facing charges of malicious wounding and hit-and-run with personal injuries.
