A Silver Spring woman won a $1 million top prize playing a Maryland Lottery scratch-off after turning a routine Powerball win into a life-changing payout.
According to the Maryland Lottery, the woman redeemed a $14-winning Powerball ticket at the 7-Eleven located at 13401 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring, then used part of the winnings to buy another scratch-off ticket that won $20.
