WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A man was shot early Saturday morning near a popular restaurant in D.C.’s Navy Yard neighborhood, leaving behind damaged windows and concerns from nearby residents.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to the 300 block of Water Street SE around 2:34 a.m. for reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said the victim was conscious and breathing before being transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The shooting happened near Osteria Morini at The Yards, where a large section of the restaurant’s window has since been boarded up. Broken glass could still be seen along the lower portion of the window on Saturday afternoon.
