Coroner: Fatal motorcycle crash closes Route 222 in Lehigh County

UPPER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. – Route 222 in Upper Macungie Township is shut down in both directions because of a fatal accident involving a motorcycle, according to the Lehigh County Coroner.

Officials say the closure stretches from Mill Creek Road to Route 100 and will remain in place until further notice.

The coroner says the victim was an adult man from Lehigh County who was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the operator of the motorcycle.

He has been identified, but his name will not be released until his next‑of‑kin has been notified.
