Locations are improving community wellbeing in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley
Six local Giant stores in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley have officially become Blue Zones Project Approved, with the aim of improving community well-being across the region. The Giant Co. is the first grocer in the area to earn this distinction. The stores are located in Allentown, Bethlehem, Trexlertown and Whitehall.
The grocer received the designation after completing a comprehensive set of evidence-based best practices designed to make healthier choices easier for customers. The milestone was marked with a special event in the Giant store at 3300 Lehigh Street in Allentown, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a certificate presentation, and opportunities for community engagement and education.
As part of the Blue Zones Project approval process, Giant implemented various initiatives to enhance customer well-being. These include holding in-store nutrition tours led by registered dietitians, using the Guiding Stars program to help shoppers easily identify healthier options, and promoting locally sourced products via dedicated signage and seasonal displays.
